The Opportunity
Are you an experienced Electrical Maintenance Engineer looking for your next career move? We are working with a leading FM service provider on a prestigious critical commercial site in Fleet Street, London. Join a professional, high‐performing engineering team where tenants are high‐end blue‐chip companies such as investment banks and law firms. You will oversee their UPS and be responsible for both planned and reactive maintenance, ensuring business continuity at a new site in the heart of Central London.
The building is expected to be completed for tenants as early as this year; this position is available for an immediate start. The office sits next to Blackfriars, with easy connections to Southeast, Thameslink overground trains and Circle and District trains via underground. Surrounding the commercial office are high‐rises with local coffee shops and high‐value restaurants.
What You'll Be Doing
- Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive electrical repairs across the site.
- Fault‐finding, diagnosing, and repairing a wide range of systems, including HV/LV distribution, UPS systems, backup generators, lighting (emergency & small power), electrical panels and control systems, and monitoring & responding to BMS alarms – ensuring safe and efficient operations.
- Ensuring all work is completed in line with health & safety and compliance standards.
- Supporting the wider engineering team, liaising with mechanical engineers, contractors, and site management.
- Keeping accurate and detailed maintenance records.
What We're Looking For
- Recognised electrical qualifications (NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds 2365, 2330, 18th Edition).
- Experience in a commercial building services or critical environment (banking, data centres, corporate sites).
- Strong working knowledge of UPS, generators, and HV/LV systems.
- HV/LV Authorised Person status – desirable but not essential.
- A proactive, flexible engineer who takes ownership and works well in a team.
