CBW Staffing Solutions is currently recruiting an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to be based at a prestigious commercial building in Croydon, Surrey. Working as part of a close-knit on-site team of three engineers, the successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance tasks across the building.

The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in Facilities Management and a proven track record in mechanical building maintenance. Hours of Work:

Monday to Friday | 08:00 – 17:00

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Monitor and maintain mechanical plant equipment
  • Carry out work on pumps, motors, seals, and bearings
  • Service and maintain air conditioning systems, including Air Handling Units (AHUs) and Fan Coil Units (FCUs) – filter changes, cleaning, and general upkeep
  • Conduct water treatment checks, including temperature monitoring (non-dosing)
  • Undertake plumbing tasks such as unblocking drains and toilets, replacing taps, washers, and general pipework repairs
  • Monitor and respond to BMS (Building Management System) alarms and readings
  • Carry out basic electrical duties, including lamp replacements
  • Maintain general building fabric and carry out minor repairs
  • Escort and supervise specialist subcontractors on site

Requirements

  • Mechanical qualification – City & Guilds Level 2 or equivalent (Essential)
  • Ability to provide copies of relevant trade certificates
  • Proven track record in commercial building maintenance
  • Multi-skilled with a flexible, can-do approach
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to liaise professionally with clients and colleagues
  • Confident working in a client-facing environment
