We are currently recruiting for an experienced Multi-Skilled Electrical Engineer to join a leading Facilities Management and Building Services team. This is an excellent opportunity for an electrically biased engineer to work across a diverse portfolio of commercial properties, carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM), reactive maintenance and minor installation works.
The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining electrical systems while also supporting general building maintenance activities to ensure sites remain safe, compliant and fully operational.
Key Responsibilities:- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on a wide range of electrical systems.
- Diagnose electrical faults and complete repairs efficiently to minimise downtime.
- Undertake minor electrical installation works, testing and commissioning.
- Inspect, maintain and repair lighting, power distribution, emergency lighting, fire alarm interfaces and other building services systems.
- Carry out electrical testing and ensure compliance with current regulations and company standards.
- Support with general building maintenance tasks, including basic mechanical, plumbing and fabric repairs where required.
- Complete accurate maintenance reports and update job information using electronic maintenance management systems.
- Liaise with clients and site contacts, providing a professional and customer-focused service.
- Ensure all work is carried out safely and in accordance with Health & Safety legislation and company procedures.
- Participate in an on-call rota where required.
The successful candidate will have:
- Previous experience working as an electrically biased maintenance engineer within Facilities Management, Building Services or a similar commercial environment.
- NVQ Level 3 or City & Guilds in Electrical Installation or Electrical Maintenance.
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS7671).
- Experience carrying out fault finding, repairs and planned maintenance on commercial electrical systems.
- Strong understanding of electrical compliance and safe working practices.
- Good problem-solving and diagnostic skills.
- The ability to work independently and prioritise workloads effectively.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- A full UK driving licence.
- 2391 Inspection & Testing (or equivalent).
- Experience with Building Management Systems (BMS).
- Knowledge of HVAC controls and mechanical plant.
- Experience within commercial offices, healthcare, education, retail or industrial environments.
- IPAF, PASMA or other relevant certifications.
- Competitive salary up to £45,000
