Mechanical Fitter in Northumberland

Site based Mechanical Fitter/Pipefitter - Cramlington - Global Facilities Management Organisation: FMCG CBW Staffing Solutions are currently hiring for a skilled and motivated Mechanical Fitter / Pipefitter for our facilities management clients on-site team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in pipework, mechanical fitting, installation or mechanical maintenance , with a practical and hands-on approach to problem-solving. This is a great opportunity for someone who has worked within mechanical fitting, pipefitting, plumbing, industrial maintenance or mechanical installation and is looking to utilise their existing skills within a large FMCG environment. This is a permanent and full time position, site based in the Cramlington area. Package Competitive salary between £40,000 - £43,000 per annum (depending on experience) Core hours are Monday to Friday Participation in 'out of hours' on call rota 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays Generous workplace pension scheme Training, development & progression opportunities Responsibilities Carry out planned and reactive mechanical maintenance across the site Install, maintain and repair various types of pipework and mechanical systems Carry out mechanical fitting, modifications and installation works Work on pumps, valves, boilers, HVAC systems, compressors, water systems and associated mechanical equipment Diagnose faults and identify effective solutions to minimise equipment downtime Carry out preventative maintenance tasks to ensure equipment reliability and longevity Read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics and technical documentation Ensure all mechanical works are completed safely and in line with relevant standards Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair activities Respond promptly to breakdowns and emergency maintenance requirements Work closely with the wider engineering and facilities management team Requirements Previous experience within mechanical fitting, pipefitting, pipework, plumbing or mechanical maintenance Strong practical and hands-on mechanical skills Experience working with mechanical systems, pipework, pumps, valves and associated equipment Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and schematics Good fault-finding and problem-solving skills Ideally qualified to Level 3 City & Guilds/NVQ in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Maintenance, Plumbing or a related discipline Experience within an industrial, manufacturing, FMCG or facilities management environment would be advantageous Strong understanding of health & safety requirements If you are a Mechanical Fitter, Pipefitter, Pipework Engineer, Mechanical Installer or have a strong mechanical/plumbing background and are looking for a rewarding career opportunity, please apply with your full CV or contact Amy O'Shea at CBW Staffing Solutions.
