We are currently recruiting for an experienced Commercial Gas Engineer to join a well-established facilities management and building services team. This is an excellent opportunity to work across a varied portfolio of commercial properties, carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM), reactive repairs and minor installation works.
The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring building services are maintained to the highest standards, delivering a professional service while maintaining compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on commercial gas systems.
- Service, maintain and repair commercial boilers, heating systems and associated plant equipment.
- Diagnose faults and carry out effective repairs to minimise downtime.
- Complete minor installation and replacement works as required.
- Undertake basic plumbing and mechanical maintenance duties where required.
- Carry out inspections and ensure all work complies with current legislation and industry standards.
- Complete all required documentation accurately using electronic or paper-based systems.
- Liaise professionally with clients, site contacts and colleagues to provide excellent customer service.
- Participate in an on-call rota where required.
- Ensure all work is completed safely and in accordance with company policies and Health & Safety regulations.
About You:
The ideal candidate will have:
- Previous experience working as a Commercial Gas Engineer within facilities management, building services or a similar environment.
- Valid Commercial Gas qualifications (CODNCO1, CIGA1, ICPN1, TPCP1A or equivalent).
- Experience servicing and maintaining commercial boilers and heating systems.
- Good fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
- Basic plumbing and mechanical maintenance experience.
- A strong understanding of Health & Safety procedures.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- The ability to work independently and manage workloads effectively.
- A full UK driving licence.
Desirable:
- LPG qualifications.
- Domestic Gas qualifications.
- F-Gas certification.
- 18th Edition.
- Electrical knowledge or additional building services experience.
- Experience working within schools, healthcare, retail or commercial buildings.
