CBW Staffing Solutions are currently recruiting for a skilled Drainage Engineer / Maintenance Plumber to be based at a large commercial site in Crawley, West Sussex. The successful candidate will have a strong background in drainage and plumbing maintenance, with experience carrying out reactive and planned works within commercial properties. This role will focus heavily on drainage systems, including unblocking, high-pressure water jetting, toilet and urinal maintenance, alongside general plumbing and building maintenance duties.

Working as part of a dedicated two-man team, you will be responsible for ensuring all drainage and plumbing systems remain fully operational across this large and unique commercial facility. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys a hands-on role, working closely with a colleague to deliver both planned and reactive maintenance services.

Hours of Work: 4 on 4 off shift pattern (2 Days / 2 Nights)
Days: 06:30am - 18:30pm
Nights: 18:30pm - 06:30am
12-hour shifts

Package:
Basic Salary: £37,000
Shift Allowance: £5,000
Total Earnings: £42,000 per annum

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Unblocking drains, toilets, sinks and waste systems
  • Carrying out high-pressure water jetting works
  • Urinal descaling, sanitisation and maintenance
  • Investigating and resolving drainage issues
  • Reactive plumbing repairs across the site
  • Toilet, basin and sanitaryware repairs
  • Pipework inspections, fault finding and repairs
  • Planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive works
  • Water hygiene inspections and temperature monitoring
  • Maintenance of pumps, expansion vessels, PRVs and TMVs
  • Minor plumbing installations and modifications
  • General building fabric maintenance and repairs
  • Escorting specialist drainage and maintenance contractors
  • Assisting other engineering trades when required
  • Ensuring all work is completed safely and in line with site procedures

Requirements:

  • NVQ Level 2 Plumbing (minimum) or equivalent qualification
  • Proven experience within drainage, plumbing, or commercial building maintenance
  • Experience carrying out drain clearance and blockage investigations
  • Knowledge of high-pressure water jetting equipment desirable
  • Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
  • Experience working within commercial or large-scale facilities
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Honest, reliable and hard-working
  • Full UK Driving Licence desirable
