One of our key clients is currently looking to recruit an experienced Asbestos Manager to be responsible for all asbestos-related matters and oversee the delivery of asbestos services across four locations in Central London. They are looking for someone who is qualified, experienced, and professional to be an expert in asbestos management but also understand the importance of structured processes and effective management in ensuring the safety of the buildings.
In this role, the manager will act as the competent person for the client and will need to make sure they are embedding and maintaining robust processes and procedures across the in-house teams and supply chain, as well as leading the delivery of asbestos surveys, removal works, projects works and keeping the asbestos register up-to-date.
The main duties of the role are as follows:
- Lead the delivery of asbestos services, including overseeing surveys, removal works, and ensuring compliance with all safety regulations.
- Develop, implement, and embed asbestos management processes and procedures across our internal teams and contractors.
- Manage asbestos compliance, including maintaining and updating the asbestos register, monitoring performance, and ensuring projects are completed to the highest standards.
- Oversee the performance and budgets of asbestos surveying and removal contracts, ensuring they meet safety and regulatory requirements.
- Provide leadership and direction, setting strategic and operational targets to drive continuous improvement.
- Act as the primary point of contact for staff, contractors, and residents regarding asbestos-related matters.
- Take a lead role in encouraging innovation and continuously seeking ways to improve processes, efficiency, and safety standards.
Applicants for the role must be able to meet the following criteria:
- P405 Management of Asbestos in Buildings or equivalent as a minimum
- NEBOSH General Certificate/Diploma
- IOSH Membership (Tech/Grad/CMIOSH)
- Significant experience in delivering asbestos management in a commercial environment.
- Experience in managing contracts, governance and procurement.
