Buyer - FM Service Provider - Canary Wharf- £40,000 per annum+ Package
CBW are currently recruiting for a Buyer for one of our key clients based in Canary Wharf.
The role is an office-based role where you will take full ownership of procurement activities across the business.
You will manage supplier relationships, oversee purchasing processes, and support building operations across multiple categories.
Initially working independently, the role offers clear potential to develop into a team leadership position as the function grows.
Key responsibilities
- Manage site requisitions and call-off orders in line with company procedures at all times.
- Review requested delivery dates to ensure they are achievable and promptly notify site teams where deadlines cannot be met.
- Obtain competitive quotations from approved suppliers, considering lead times, payment terms, discounts, and overall value.
- Negotiate with suppliers to secure the best possible prices prior to placing orders.
- Place orders accurately, ensuring all products are like-for-like and meet project specifications.
- Ensure all orders are signed off in accordance with company approval processes.
- Confirm delivery times at the point of order and verify that suppliers are aware of any site-specific delivery restrictions
- Monitor urgent deliveries and proactively chase back-orders, keeping site teams fully informed of progress
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date purchasing trackers
- Arrange returns with suppliers where required and notify the Commercial Manager to ensure credits are tracked and recorded correctly
- Record and
- Act as a key liaison between suppliers, site teams, and the Commercial Manager to ensure clear communication and issue resolution
- Resolve invoice queries promptly, escalating payment issues immediately where necessary
- Continuously identify opportunities to improve the efficiency and accuracy of the purchasing process
- Undertake ad hoc duties as required to support the wider team and business needs

- 08:00am - 17:00pm - Monday - Thursday
Essentials
- Previous experience in a Buyer, Procurement Officer, or Purchasing role
- Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills
- Comfortable working with suppliers and internal stakeholders
- Good Excel and systems capability
- Previously worked in Construction or Facilities Maintenance (desirable)
