CBW is currently recruiting for a Mechanical Lead Engineer to be based at a large, modern estate in the Stratford area. This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established on-site engineering team, working within a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
The Lead Engineer will be part of a team of 10 engineers, supervising one direct report while supporting the wider team. The role operates on a rotating early and late shift pattern (7:00am - 3:00pm / 10:00am - 6:00pm). The position is split approximately 60% administrative duties and 40% hands-on mechanical maintenance, combining leadership responsibilities with practical involvement on site. Strong communication skills and the ability to maintain high service standards are essential.
Key duties & Responsibilities
- Manage agreed KPI and SLA's alongside the Supervisor
- Arrange specialist sub-contractors
- Management of all reports/site log books (Working with the Contract Manager & Supervisor)
- Ensure all paperwork is up to date on each contract and ready for audits
- Attend client meetings if required
- Lighting (Small installation, Fault-finding, Lamping, etc)
- Emergency lighting & Fire alarm tests
- Air Conditioning - Air Handling Units / Fan Coil Unit (Filter changes, cleaning)
- BMS System - Monitor (i.e. Hot & Colds)
- Statutory Compliance

Requirements
- Mechanical Qualifications Level 2/3 NVQ or City & Guilds Equivalent
- Client facing and presentable
- A proven track record in commercial building maintenance
- Hard working, honest and reliable
- Familiar with E-Log books
