Site based Mechanical Fitter/Pipefitter - Cramlington - Global Facilities Management Organisation: FMCG

CBW Staffing Solutions are currently hiring for a skilled and motivated Mechanical Fitter / Pipefitter for our facilities management clients on-site team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in pipework, mechanical fitting, installation or mechanical maintenance, with a practical and hands-on approach to problem-solving.

This is a great opportunity for someone who has worked within mechanical fitting, pipefitting, plumbing, industrial maintenance or mechanical installation and is looking to utilise their existing skills within a large FMCG environment. This is a permanent and full time position, site based in the Cramlington area.

Package

  • Competitive salary between £40,000 - £43,000 per annum (depending on experience)
  • Core hours are Monday to Friday
  • Participation in 'out of hours' on call rota
  • 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays

Responsibilities

  • Carry out planned and reactive mechanical maintenance across the site
  • Install, maintain and repair various types of pipework and mechanical systems
  • Carry out mechanical fitting, modifications and installation works
  • Work on pumps, valves, boilers, HVAC systems, compressors, water systems and associated mechanical equipment
  • Diagnose faults and identify effective solutions to minimise equipment downtime
  • Carry out preventative maintenance tasks to ensure equipment reliability and longevity
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics and technical documentation
  • Ensure all mechanical works are completed safely and in line with relevant standards
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair activities
  • Respond promptly to breakdowns and emergency maintenance requirements
  • Work closely with the wider engineering and facilities management team

Requirements

  • Previous experience within mechanical fitting, pipefitting, pipework, plumbing or mechanical maintenance
  • Strong practical and hands-on mechanical skills
  • Experience working with mechanical systems, pipework, pumps, valves and associated equipment
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and schematics
  • Good fault-finding and problem-solving skills
  • Ideally qualified to Level 3 City & Guilds/NVQ in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Maintenance, Plumbing or a related discipline
  • Experience within an industrial, manufacturing, FMCG or facilities management environment would be advantageous
  • Strong understanding of health & safety requirements
