Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced and reliable Air Conditioning Engineer to join our growing team. This is a field-based role covering Cambridgeshire and surrounding areas, focusing on breakdowns, service, and maintenance of a wide range of air conditioning systems. The successful candidate will have a strong technical background, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and excellent customer service skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive breakdown repairs on commercial and residential air conditioning systems (split, multi-split, VRV/VRF).
- Diagnose faults and implement effective solutions quickly and efficiently.
- Perform routine servicing and performance checks to ensure systems operate efficiently.
- Complete service reports, job sheets, and other documentation to a high standard.
- Liaise professionally with clients to provide updates and advice.
- Comply with all relevant health and safety legislation and company policies.
- Participate in a shared on-call rota for emergency breakdowns (usually evenings and weekends).
Requirements:
Essential:
- Minimum 3 years experience in air conditioning service and maintenance.
- Strong knowledge of diagnosing and repairing faults in AC systems.
- F-Gas Category 1 Certification (essential).
- Full UK driving licence.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Able to work independently and manage workload effectively.
Desirable:
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Air Conditioning & Refrigeration or equivalent.
- Experience with VRV/VRF systems from manufacturers such as Daikin, Mitsubishi, or Toshiba.
- Experience in small-scale installs.
- CSCS/ECS card.
