Client Direct / In-house – Data Centre – Slough – £60,000 per annum
Hours of work: Monday to Friday – 08:00am to 17:00pm. Flexible approach to working hours (Out of hours work).
Responsibilities:
- Manage day-to-day operation including repair and maintenance, security, change control process, procurement, accounting and budgeting related issues.
- Manage subcontractors and provide a 12-month planner of contractor site visits/PPMs.
- Manage/execute Data Centre’s expansion, modification, maintenance or new customer move-in projects.
- Preparation of maintenance contract & tender document.
- Supervise and liaise with external vendors in respect of regular communications and ad-hoc work and respond to issues that arise.
- Manage specifications, problems, issues, performance and administration.
- Prepare management reports, PowerPoint presentations, SOP/EOP, critical activity planning (such as Power down & Pull-the-Plug test, Emergency / Disaster Recovery plans / Business Continuity Plans, Data Centre customers’ report).
- Act as an incident manager to manage all incidents and prepare incident reports.
- Engage with internal stakeholders to gain feedback on customers’ enquiries.
- Intervene, analyse, manage and resolve business conflicts between the company and the vendors/suppliers.
- Implement procedures of safety system and performance measurement scorecard to ensure quality and reliability of services meeting client’s requirements.
- Provide superior customer service to clients through all facility functions.
- Routinely inspect all areas to ensure performance measures are maintained and proactively self-report problems of facilities.
- Track and update the financial budget.
- Liaise with MEP, IDC, Security and Office Manager and produce data centre operation report on a weekly basis.
- Responsible for Data Centre Facility Management operations.
- Establish engineering and operation procedures and roll out for site staff.
- Ensure compliance with all local statutory regulations.
- Manage all vendors to carry out maintenance for all installations during weekends and review maintenance reports.
- Provide solutions for technical issues.
- Participate in Disaster Recovery Plan per the Client’s requirement.
- Manage and monitor the Data Centre Infrastructure Management System and all sub-systems (including but not limited to BMS, PMS and SMS), and update technical drawings, inventory list and asset list regularly.
- Audit FM shift handover/performance/work/Procedure monthly, and CMI has the right to audit internally.
Qualifications:
- City & Guilds Level 2 & 3 and AM2 (or equivalent).
- City & Guilds 18th Edition IEE Regulations.
- Proven track record of handling Uptime Certification (must).
- HV & LV Authorised Person (highly desirable, not essential).
- Experience in facilities operation in Data Centre, Telecommunications industry.
- Ability to coordinate with utility company and deal with High Voltage.
- Knowledge of critical facilities: Chiller, CRAC, UPS, STS.
- Strong leadership, people and communication skills.
- Strong PC literacy and proven ability to manage daily activities using systems including MS Excel and PowerPoint.
