An exciting opportunity to join an established building services company based in Brighton, East Sussex. CBW Staffing Solutions is currently recruiting for an Electrical Maintenance Engineer to be based in a commercial complex located in the heart of Brighton. The site will have major transportation hubs, such as a variety of key bus stops, located near Churchill Square, Brighton Railway Station (Southern Railway) and London Road (Brighton) Train Station, all within a 10‑minute walk of the commercial complex.
The successful candidate will be electrically qualified (C&G, NVQ or apprenticeship trained) with a proven track record in commercial building maintenance. Working alongside a team of 3 engineers, you will be required to carry out PPM & reactive maintenance across the landlord areas. In return, the company is willing to offer a competitive salary of up to £36,000.00 per annum, 25 days holiday + Bank Holidays, company pension and overtime available if desired. Working Hours Monday to Friday (40‑hour weeks). 3‑Week Rotation: Week 1: 07:00 am – 04:00 pm, Week 2: 08:00 am – 05:00 pm, Week 3: 09:00 am – 06:00 pm.
Key Duties and Responsibilities- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPMs), reactive maintenance, in accordance with set schedules, ensuring standards are maintained to maximise organisational effectiveness.
- Observe statutory and other relevant requirements at all times.
- Maintain electrical installations, repairs and maintenance.
- Escalate any issue that would affect the ability, health and safety and security of the buildings.
- Provide technical support/input to projects and initiatives.
- Assist the maintenance team with other PPMs/extra work‑related tasks.
- Undertake physical inspections of the buildings, and of completed works and service contracts.
- Liaise and build effective working relationships as appropriate with other staff and external parties.
- Demonstrate the highest levels of customer service.
- Complete and finalise projects to a high standard and be able to self‑snag works and fault‑find on completion.
- Electrically qualified (C&G/NVQ) Level 2 & 3 (Essential).
- (BS 7671) 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (Desirable).
- Must be able to provide copies of your trade certificates (Essential).
- A proven track record in commercial building maintenance.
- Good communication skills.
- Client‑Facing.
