As one of the fastest‑growing firms in our sector, we specialise in R&D Tax Relief, partnering with businesses across many sectors including engineering, technology, manufacturing, construction, energy, science, agriculture, and food & beverage to deliver robust claims, commercial value, and fully compliant advice. There has never been a more exciting time to join CBTax as we continue our international growth.
About The Role
Our people are at the heart of that plan, and our HR team plays a critical role in keeping the business running and our culture strong as we scale. This is a hands‑on HR Administrator role supporting the full employee lifecycle across our growing international footprint. You will be the operational engine of the HR function — keeping records sharp, onboarding seamless, and managers supported as we continue to expand. It is an excellent opportunity for an early‑career HR professional who wants exposure to a global, fast‑paced business and the chance to grow alongside a scaling HR team.
In This Role You Will:
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date employee records across the HR system, ensuring strict confidentiality and GDPR compliance.
- Manage day‑to‑day employee administration across the lifecycle — probation reviews, role and salary changes, and maternity/paternity correspondence.
- Draft and issue employment agreements, coordinate references, right‑to‑work checks and background screening.
- Own the onboarding experience — prepare induction materials, set new hires up in systems, and act as their first point of contact.
- Manage off‑boarding end‑to‑end, including resignations, leaver documentation, exit interviews and system access changes.
- Liaise with payroll and other teams to ensure final pay and benefits are processed correctly.
- Handle first‑line employee relations queries, escalating to the Associate HR Director where appropriate.
- Provide administrative support on disciplinary and grievance matters, including confidential note‑taking.
- Administer the appraisal process — issue documentation, track completion, and chase managers to keep things on track.
- Support training requests and assist with delivery of company‑wide training initiatives.
- Support the Associate HR Director on wider HR projects and policy implementation.
What We’re Looking For:
- Previous experience as an HR Administrator, Coordinator or Officer (required).
- CIPD Level 3 qualified (or actively working towards).
- Working knowledge of HR practices and UK employment legislation.
- Confident user of Microsoft Office and HR systems.
- Exposure to a global or multi‑site business (preferred, not essential).
- Strong organisational skills and a sharp eye for detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Trusted handler of sensitive and confidential information.
- Calm under pressure, able to prioritise across competing demands.
- Professional, approachable and genuinely service‑mindful.
Benefits & Perks:
- Commission: Performance‑linked rewards across the business.
- Pension: Employer contributions to support your long‑term future.
- Healthcare: Private medical cover for peace of mind.
- Tech Scheme: Salary sacrifice scheme for the latest tech.
- Flex Benefits: A flexible benefits platform to tailor to what matters to you.
- Employee Incentives: Regular incentives, socials and team events.
- Recognition: A culture that celebrates results and the people behind them.
