Overview

In this role, you will install, maintain and troubleshoot highly secure systems for national security customers across the UK and abroad.

You’ll work hands-on at client sites, collaborating with engineering and project teams to deliver reliable, mission-critical hardware and networks.

This role combines field service with technical training and responsive support, including on-call coverage.

You’ll be part of a defensible, security-focused environment that values practical problem-solving and customer impact.

Responsibilities

  • Install, commission and configure secure networking and communications equipment
  • Perform preventative maintenance, firmware upgrades and system health checks
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware/infrastructure faults via root cause analysis
  • Manage Windows Server environments, virtualization, and secure network infrastructure
  • Provide technical support during trials, demonstrations and exercises
  • Deliver operator/maintainer training
  • Provide remote 1st/2nd line support
  • Create technical documentation and maintenance reports
  • Support software deployments, configuration management and hardware lifecycle
  • Collaborate with engineering, logistics and project teams to deliver support
  • Participate in a 24/7 on-call rota (1 week in 4)
  • Key requirements
  • Experience in defence, military or secure government environments
  • RF systems and secure communications
  • Cisco routing and switching
  • VMware ESXi and/or Microsoft Hyper-V
  • LAN/WAN/VLAN networking
  • Encryption/cryptographic equipment
  • Hardware installation and preventative maintenance
  • Customer-facing technical support
  • Configuration, release and change management
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Willingness to travel within the UK and occasionally internationally
  • Eligible for SC and DV security clearance
