The Opportunity

You’ll play a key role in developing robust, data-driven cost models that support customer proposals, pricing strategies, and business decision-making across complex engineering programmes. The position combines analytical problem-solving with operational understanding and commercial influence.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and maintaining structured pricing and cost models
  • Validating manufacturing and operational cost assumptions
  • Analysing BOMs, routings, labour standards, and production cost drivers
  • Supporting bid and proposal activity through detailed cost justification
  • Conducting actual vs estimate variance analysis and post-award reviews
  • Working closely with Supply Chain to assess supplier costing and negotiation opportunities
  • Identifying commercial, operational, and compliance risks within pricing models
  • Supporting continuous improvement of costing procedures, operational analysis, and ERP data integrity

What They’re Looking For

  • Experience within manufacturing, aerospace, defence, automotive, rail, MRO, or complex engineering environments
  • Strong understanding of production or manufacturing processes
  • Exposure to costing, estimating, pricing models, project controls, or operational analysis
  • Understanding of BOMs, routings, labour standards, and manufacturing cost drivers
  • Advanced Excel capability including structured modelling and data analysis
  • Experience extracting and interpreting ERP or SAP cost data
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to challenge assumptions and influence stakeholders
