This role is for people who believe safety is designed into processes — not written around them. We’re looking for a manufacturing-grounded Process Engineer who understands the realities of machining, shop-floor risk, and operational discipline — and who wants to make a tangible difference in how manufacturing is done, every day.

Working for a company that designs and manufactures highly engineered products for safety-critical applications. Failure isn’t theoretical here — which is why process clarity, risk control, and robust safety thinking sit at the heart of manufacturing.

The Role

You’ll work directly within manufacturing, partnering with engineers, operators, and leaders to review, strengthen, and standardise processes across machining and production. This is not a desk-based role. You’ll spend time on the shop floor, understanding how work really happens, identifying risk, and helping teams implement clear, practical, and repeatable ways of working.

What You’ll Be Responsible For

  • Conducting structured reviews of manufacturing processes, identifying risks across safety, quality, and operational reliability
  • Acting as a key advisor on manufacturing safety, including machining hazards and process risk
  • Developing and maintaining work instructions, general risk assessments, and COSHH assessments
  • Supporting the introduction of new equipment, processes, and changes, ensuring safety and consistency are designed in from day one
  • Owning and maintaining the process management system, championing strong process discipline
  • Coordinating continuous improvement initiatives that reduce risk and improve consistency
  • Developing and tracking KPIs to measure compliance, process performance, and improvement impact
  • Preparing clear, insight-led reports for senior stakeholders

What We’re Looking For

You’ll likely come from a manufacturing or production engineering background, with hands-on exposure to:

  • Machining and assembly environments
  • Manufacturing risk and safety within real-world production settings
  • COSHH assessments and process documentation
  • Lean manufacturing principles and 5S

Just as importantly, you’ll be someone who:

  • Is comfortable working directly with shop-floor teams
  • Can translate technical and safety requirements into clear, usable guidance
  • Has the confidence to challenge unsafe practices constructively
  • Takes ownership and follows improvements through to completion
  • Cares deeply about doing things properly, not just compliantly

Why This Role Appeals to Experienced Engineers

  • Safety here is mission-critical, not theoretical
  • You’ll influence how manufacturing processes are built and sustained
  • Your experience will be trusted — not micro-managed
  • The work has real consequence and real purpose

What’s On Offer

  • Competitive salary and benefits package
  • Strong pension and healthcare provision
  • Long-term stability and progression within a highly respected engineering environment
  • The chance to leave a lasting imprint on how manufacturing is done
