Manufacturing Safety & Process Assurance Engineer
West London / Middlesex | On-site Manufacturing Environment
This role is about making manufacturing safer — by making processes better.
We’re looking for someone who understands that risk doesn’t live in policies — it lives on the shop floor.
This role suits a manufacturing-experienced professional who has spent time around machining, hazardous substances, and complex production environments, and who knows how to assess risk properly and design safer ways of working that operators actually follow.
You’ll be part of a safety-critical engineering organisation where precision, discipline, and consistency are non-negotiable — and where your judgement and experience will genuinely matter.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Reviewing manufacturing and machining processes to identify safety, COSHH, and operational risks
- Creating and maintaining risk assessments, COSHH assessments, and safe systems of work
- Working directly with operators, supervisors, and engineers to embed safe, consistent processes
- Supporting the introduction of new machinery, equipment, and process changes from a risk and safety perspective
- Strengthening process governance, documentation, and compliance across manufacturing
- Driving practical improvements that reduce risk and improve reliability
- Acting as a trusted safety and process advisor within the manufacturing function
Who This Role Is For
This role is ideal for someone who:
- Comes from a manufacturing or production environment
- Has hands-on experience with machining, workshop, or shop-floor operations
- Has led or owned risk assessments and COSHH assessments
- Understands Lean manufacturing, 5S, and operational discipline
- Is comfortable being visible on the shop floor and engaging with teams
- Prefers practical problem-solving over paperwork
You might currently be working as a:
- Manufacturing Safety Engineer
- Process / Production Engineer with strong safety ownership
- Manufacturing Risk or Operational Risk Specialist
- Senior Manufacturing H&S Advisor (with deep shop-floor exposure)
Why This Role Stands Out
- Safety here is mission-critical, not administrative
- You’ll influence how manufacturing processes are designed and sustained
- You’ll be listened to — not sidelined
- The work has real consequence in a high-integrity engineering environment
What’s On Offer
- Competitive salary and benefits
- Strong pension and healthcare
- Long-term stability in a respected British engineering business
- A role where your experience genuinely improves how people work
