As the business continues to invest in its manufacturing capability, they're looking to appoint a Quality Inspector to strengthen their Quality team. The Role - Quality Inspector
Working across a variety of manufacturing projects, you'll be responsible for inspecting components and assemblies, supporting production teams, investigating quality issues and ensuring products meet engineering drawings, specifications and customer requirements. You'll work closely with Manufacturing, Production Engineering and Quality Engineering teams to maintain robust quality standards while helping to drive continuous improvement. For experienced candidates, there is also the opportunity to join at Senior Quality Inspector level, taking on mentoring responsibilities and leading quality improvement activities.
Key Responsibilities - Quality Inspector
- Inspect components and assemblies against engineering drawings and process requirements.
- Carry out manual inspections using precision measuring equipment including micrometers, height gauges and shadowgraph equipment.
- Operate and programme CMM equipment (where applicable).
- Generate, maintain and complete First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs).
- Raise and support investigations into non-conformances.
- Approve and inspect reworked components.
- Perform operator compliance checks and process audits.
- Develop inspection methods for new or complex products.
- Support continuous improvement activities alongside Engineering and Production teams.
- Contribute to internal and supplier quality audits.
What We're Looking For - Quality Inspector
You'll ideally have:
- An engineering apprenticeship or equivalent engineering qualification.
- Experience within a manufacturing or engineering quality inspection environment.
- The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T.
- Experience producing or reviewing FAIR documentation.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent problem-solving skills.
It would also be beneficial if you have experience with:
- CMM operation and programming.
- Root cause analysis techniques such as 8D or 5 Whys.
- AS/EN9100 Internal Auditor training.
