Working within a cleanroom environment, you'll play a vital role in maintaining and supporting complex wafer fabrication and epitaxy equipment used in the production of cutting-edge optoelectronic devices.
This is an excellent opportunity for engineers with strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding experience looking to work in a high-tech manufacturing environment.
Previous semiconductor experience is highly desirable, but engineers from aerospace, defence, automotive, pharmaceuticals, power generation, oil & gas, or Armed Forces technical backgrounds are also encouraged to apply.
The Role You'll be responsible for maintaining and repairing advanced semiconductor manufacturing equipment, ensuring maximum uptime and supporting continuous production through planned preventative maintenance and rapid fault diagnosis.
Key Responsibilities Diagnose and repair complex electro-mechanical equipment faults.
Carry out preventative maintenance on semiconductor processing equipment.
Support vacuum, pneumatic, electrical, RF and mechanical systems.
Maintain gas delivery, exhaust and chemical handling systems safely.
Manage critical spare parts and equipment availability.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to maximise equipment performance.
Complete maintenance documentation and engineering records.
Work closely with production, engineering and facilities teams.
Participate in the site's emergency response team (training provided).
Operate forklift equipment (training provided).
About You You'll have a recognised Engineering qualification (Apprenticeship, HNC/HND, Degree or equivalent experience) together with proven experience maintaining complex industrial equipment.
Essential Skills Strong electrical and mechanical maintenance experience.
Excellent fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
Experience working on complex electro-mechanical systems.
Ability to read engineering drawings and technical documentation.
Strong health & safety awareness.
Good communication and organisational skills.
Computer literacy, including Microsoft Office.
Desirable Semiconductor or cleanroom manufacturing experience.
Experience with vacuum systems, RF equipment, process gases or automation equipment.
