Join a world-class defence manufacturer and play a key role in ensuring the quality and reliability of complex engineered products. As a Quality Inspector, you’ll support the full product lifecycle — from initial build through to final assembly — ensuring that every component meets the highest standards of safety, precision and performance.

What You’ll Do:

  • Deliver Final Assembly Inspection Reports (FAIRs) and ensure full conformity to quality standards.
  • Write NCRs and support root-cause investigations into technical issues.
  • Inspect rework and verify corrective actions.
  • Work closely with Quality Engineering, Production, and Design teams to improve processes and resolve quality risks.
  • Plan and manage your own inspection workload in partnership with Cell Leaders.
  • Create and maintain FAIRs using Visual FAIR.
  • Build, update and manage CMM programs, probes and software, including troubleshooting errors and collisions.
  • Carry out manual inspections using micrometers, height gauges, shadowgraph and other precision tools.
  • Develop inspection methods for non-standard or complex components.
  • Conduct internal audits in line with the audit schedule.
  • Champion safe working practices and escalate concerns via SWIM when required.
  • Support wider quality projects and business improvement initiatives.

What You’ll Bring:

Essential:

  • Engineering Apprenticeship (or equivalent).
  • Proven experience in Quality Inspection within manufacturing or engineering.
  • Hands-on CMM experience, including programming.
  • Strong understanding of engineering drawings and precision measurement equipment.
  • Experience generating FAIRs and using root-cause tools (8D, 5 Whys, etc.).

Desirable:

  • HNC (or equivalent) or significant aerospace quality experience.
  • AS/EN9100 internal auditor qualification.
  • Knowledge of PPAP, APQP, Six Sigma or Lean tools.
  • Experience working within an AS/EN9100 aerospace quality system.
