Senior Electronics Hardware Engineer We're working with an innovative technology business that designs and manufactures sophisticated electronic products used in highly regulated and technically demanding environments.

As their engineering team continues to grow, they're looking to appoint an experienced Senior Electronics Hardware Engineer who enjoys taking ownership of challenging hardware development projects from initial concept through to production.

What You'll Be Doing You'll play a leading role in the design and development of next-generation electronic hardware, working alongside specialists across electronics, embedded software, mechanical design and systems engineering.

Your work will include: Designing high-performance electronic circuits and multi-layer PCBs for complex embedded systems.

Producing schematics and PCB layouts using Altium Designer, ensuring designs are optimised for manufacture and long-term reliability.

Supporting prototype build, testing, validation and design refinement throughout the development cycle.

Diagnosing hardware issues using laboratory test equipment and applying structured engineering methods to identify root causes.

Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless integration between hardware, firmware and mechanical assemblies.

Contributing to product verification, regulatory compliance and manufacturing readiness.

Reviewing designs, sharing technical expertise and helping to maintain high engineering standards across the team.

What We're Looking For We're keen to speak with experienced hardware engineers who have successfully delivered complex electronic products and are comfortable taking ownership of technical decisions.

You'll ideally bring: A degree or higher qualification in Electronic Engineering or a related discipline.

Strong commercial experience designing complex electronic hardware and multi-layer PCB assemblies.

Excellent knowledge of digital and analogue electronics, power circuitry and mixed-signal design principles.

Proven experience using Altium Designer for both schematic capture and PCB layout.

A solid understanding of product development from concept through prototype, testing and production.

Practical experience using oscilloscopes, logic analysers and other electronic test equipment for debugging and verification.

The confidence to make informed engineering decisions while balancing performance, cost, manufacturability and reliability.

Additional Experience That Would Be Beneficial While not essential, experience in any of the following would be advantageous: FPGA development and programmable logic design.

Python or C programming for engineering tools, automation or test development.

EMC design, compliance testing or environmental qualification.

Reliability engineering, DFMEA or Design for Manufacture (DFM).

Why Apply?

This role offers the chance to work on technically advanced products within a cooperative engineering environment where your ideas and expertise will have genuine influence.

You'll benefit from: Interesting and varied hardware development projects.

A high degree of technical ownership and autonomy.

Close collaboration with experienced multidisciplinary engineering teams.

Opportunities for ongoing professional development and career progression.

Salary and comprehensive benefits package.

If you're an experienced Hardware Engineer looking for a role where you can solve challenging engineering problems and make a real technical contribution, we'd be pleased to tell you more in confidence.
