We are representing a large IT Consultancy based in the West Midlands who is looking to hire an HR Director to support a major UK government-facing environment. This is a 6-month hybrid working (3 days onsite) contract role offering the opportunity to shape and lead a critical people agenda at scale. You should be based within commuting distance of the West Midlands.
About the role:
This role plays a pivotal part in shaping workforce strategy, organisational capability, and leadership effectiveness. You will act as a trusted partner to senior stakeholders, driving the people agenda across a complex, high-scale environment.
Role responsibilities include:
- Future Workforce Planning
- Talent & Succession
- Improving employee experience, morale, and engagement across a hybrid workforce
- Partnering on key client engagements, bids, transitions, and restructures
- Ensuring workforce strategy supports delivery stability and business outcomes
- Coaching senior leaders through complex change and transformation
- Navigating complex ER environments, including union and industrial considerations
- Supporting business change
- Embedding DEI across all people processes and leadership practices
About you:
You will be a proven HR / People Director or Senior HRBP with strong leadership credentials with experience managing large-scale populations (2,000+ employees). You will have a strong background in complex, matrixed organisations ideally within an IT Consulting firm. You will be comfortable working with senior leaders and operating in commercially driven environments. Experience in transformation, workforce planning, and organisational change. Strong ER and stakeholder management experience. Exposure to public sector or regulated environments is beneficial. We will also consider highly experienced Senior HRBPs with strong leadership credentials and relevant scale exposure, particularly those based in or near the West Midlands.
