Overview
In this Demand & Capacity Manager role, you will forecast and manage demand and capacity for secure IT services within a Defence/MOD environment. You will work with service owners, technical teams and defence stakeholders to ensure resources and infrastructure meet current and future requirements. The role focuses on monitoring capacity trends, governance and continual service improvement to keep services resilient and scalable. This is a chance to influence capacity planning in a high-security context and collaborate across cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities
- Manage demand and capacity planning across secure IT services
- Forecast resource and infrastructure requirements with service owners and technical teams
- Monitor service performance, utilisation, and capacity trends
- Support service management processes, governance, and continual service improvement
- Identify risks related to capacity, performance and service availability
- Produce management information, reports and recommendations for senior stakeholders
- Coordinate with project and operational teams to plan future demand
Key requirements
- Current DV clearance
- MOD/Defence sector experience
- Strong IT Service Management background
- Experience in demand management, capacity management or service planning
- Understanding of technical infrastructure (servers, networks, hosting, data centres)
