Kidderminster (ad hoc hybrid)

Are you graduating in Materials Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or a related scientific discipline and looking for a career where your work genuinely matters? We're supporting an advanced engineering organisation that develops some of the world's most innovative propulsion technology. This is a rare opportunity to join a specialist research and engineering team working on high-performance materials used in extreme environments.

You'll receive structured training, mentoring from experienced scientists and engineers, and the opportunity to build expertise in a highly specialised field.

What you'll be doing

  • Researching and developing advanced materials
  • Investigating how materials behave under extreme temperatures, pressure and mechanical loads
  • Supporting material testing, analysis and qualification
  • Solving real manufacturing and engineering challenges
  • Working with production and engineering teams to improve manufacturing processes
  • Producing technical reports and presenting findings
  • Supporting new material development for future technologies

No two days are the same, and you'll quickly gain exposure to the complete product lifecycle—from research through to manufacturing.

What we're looking for

  • A degree (or be graduating this year) in Materials Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or a related scientific discipline
  • A genuine interest in materials and how they perform in real engineering applications
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • A proactive attitude and desire to continually develop your knowledge
  • Industrial placements, laboratory experience or manufacturing exposure would be advantageous but are not essential.

Why join?

This isn't a role where you'll spend every day in a laboratory. Instead, you'll combine science with engineering—working closely with production, manufacturing and design teams to solve complex technical challenges and see your work make a real impact.

You'll benefit from:

  • Structured graduate development and mentoring
  • Specialist technical training
  • Opportunities to attend industry conferences and external courses
  • Hybrid working
  • Excellent benefits package
  • Long-term career progression within a highly specialised engineering environment

If you're looking for a graduate role where you'll be challenged, supported and given the opportunity to become a recognised technical specialist, we'd love to hear from you.
