This is an exciting opportunity to join a specialist test and evaluation team where you’ll work with a wide range of materials and gain experience across multiple laboratories.
As a Chemistry Graduate, you’ll play a key role in testing and analysing raw materials, intermediate products, and final production samples – some of which may be hazardous in nature. You will use both advanced analytical instrumentation and traditional wet chemistry techniques to ensure materials meet strict standards and specifications.
This role offers variety, technical development, and the opportunity to learn from experienced scientists while building your expertise in both chemical and physical testing.
Key Accountabilities – Chemistry Graduate
- Preparing and testing materials using techniques such as HPLC, GC, FTIR, AAS, gravimetric and volumetric analysis.
- Carrying out physical and thermal testing including tensile testing, differential scanning calorimetry, and dynamic mechanical thermal analysis.
- Assisting in the writing of COSHH and risk assessments, test methods, and laboratory procedures.
- Maintaining laboratory equipment and ensuring facilities are safe and compliant.
- Communicating results clearly to internal teams and supporting problem-solving activities.
Skills and knowledge required – Chemistry Graduate
- A degree in Chemistry, Materials Science, or a related science discipline.
- Practical experience handling hazardous chemicals and working in a laboratory environment (through study, projects, or industry).
