Role - Manufacturing Engineer

Location - Kidderminster, UK

My client is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineering/CMM Programmer for an opportunity within the aerospace and defence manufacturing sector. The role is focused on developing, validating, and optimising CMM inspection programmes for high-precision components, working closely with Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Design and Production teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Developing and optimising CMM inspection programmes for LK Metrology CMMs
  • Programming complex 3D inspection routines from CAD models
  • Interpreting engineering drawings and GD&T requirements
  • Supporting NPI, industrialisation and First Article Inspection (FAI)
  • Investigating dimensional non-conformances and supporting root cause analysis
  • Supporting MSA, Gauge R&R and capability studies
  • Improving inspection strategies and reducing cycle times
  • Maintaining CMM programmes, inspection documentation, and work instructions
  • Working within AS9100/EN9100 and other highly regulated quality environments

What We’re Looking For

  • Precision metrology and CMM programming
  • GD&T and engineering drawings
  • CAD-based inspection programming
  • NPI / manufacturing process validation
  • SPC and MSA
  • PC-DMIS, CAMIO or similar metrology software would be advantageous
  • AS9100/EN9100 and AS9102 knowledge would also be beneficial

The role would suit someone with a strong Manufacturing Engineering background who is looking to take ownership of CMM programming and inspection strategy within a technically demanding environment.
