Location: Basingstoke (Hybrid – 2 to 3 days per week on-site)
Salary: £65,000 basic + £6,000 car allowance + 10% bonus + 10% DV allowance
Security Clearance: SC required to start, with willingness to undergo DV clearance
About the Role
A leading global IT consultancy is seeking a Change Impact Technical Consultant to join its expanding Defence and National Security division. This is a highly customer-facing role that demands strong technical leadership and a deep understanding of both business and technical requirements.
You will be responsible for designing and delivering secure, scalable network solutions, producing high-quality design documentation, guiding the technical delivery, and ensuring compliance through internal governance processes.
Key Responsibilities

Interpret complex business and technical requirements to create robust and secure network solutions.

Lead the development of design documentation, ensuring all outputs meet internal quality and governance standards.

Provide hands-on technical leadership throughout the project lifecycle, from concept to operational handover.

Collaborate closely with programme teams and cross-functional stakeholders to support integrated solution delivery.
Required Skills and Experience

Proven ability to understand and address customer business and technical needs through effective solution design.

Experience designing and implementing solutions with technologies from global network vendors such as Cisco and Juniper .

Strong documentation skills with a track record of producing high-quality technical collateral.

Industry-recognised certifications such as Cisco CCNA/CCNP , Juniper JNCIA-Design , or JNCIA-Junos .

Ability to deliver non-standard solutions that span LAN, WAN, WiFi, VPN, Voice, Video, Cyber , and Security technologies.

Solid understanding of the full project lifecycle, with an awareness of delivery risks, dependencies, and commercial considerations.

Confident supporting programme managers with reporting and delivery tracking to ensure projects are completed on time and to specification.

Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to lead discussions and make informed decisions under pressure.
