Are you an experienced Storage, Backup or Infrastructure Engineer looking for your next opportunity within a secure, enterprise-scale environment?
We're looking for a 2nd Line Backup & Storage Engineer to join an established team of 2nd and 3rd Line engineers, supporting a high-profile customer environment across multiple data centres.
This is a hands-on infrastructure role where you'll be responsible for the support, administration and development of enterprise storage and backup platforms, while working closely with customers, stakeholders and wider technical teams.
The Role
You'll be responsible for maintaining the availability, performance and resilience of large-scale storage and backup environments across three data centre sites.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Providing 2nd Line support across enterprise storage and backup environments.
- Supporting and administering NetApp storage and Cohesity backup platforms.
- Investigating and resolving incidents, service requests and problem tickets within agreed SLAs.
- Handling Severity 1 & 2 incidents and contributing to Root Cause Analysis.
- Administering NAS and SAN environments.
- Supporting VMware integration with NetApp.
- Configuring and troubleshooting storage fabric switches and SAN zoning.
- Monitoring storage capacity, performance, availability and resilience.
- Identifying potential risks and implementing appropriate remedial actions.
- Planning and carrying out storage software and firmware upgrades.
- Installing and commissioning new storage and backup hardware.
- Raising and presenting Change Requests in accordance with established change processes.
- Maintaining technical documentation and working procedures.
- Supporting continuous service improvement initiatives.
- Sharing knowledge and technical expertise with other members of the team.
What We're Looking For
We're particularly interested in candidates with experience across:
- NetApp storage in an enterprise environment.
- NetApp storage hardware.
- NAS / SAN technologies and principles.
- VMware integration with NetApp.
- Enterprise backup environments.
- Storage troubleshooting and incident resolution.
- IT Service Management / ITIL environments.
- Managing P1/P2 incidents and contributing to RCA.
- Working to defined SLAs and KPIs.
- Change and release management.
Cohesity, SAN fabric switching, zoning, storage upgrades and multi-data-centre experience would be highly advantageous.
