Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced IT Administrator with current MOD DV clearance to support a major UK defence programme based on-site in Warton. The role will provide day-to-day IT administration and operational support within a highly classified environment, ensuring systems are maintained securely, reliably, and in line with MOD policies. This is a long-term contract opportunity operating inside IR35, requiring full on-site presence due to the sensitive nature of the work.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide IT administration and operational support across secure MOD systems
- Manage user accounts, access controls, and permissions in line with security policies
- Support installation, configuration, and maintenance of IT hardware and software
- Monitor system performance, availability, and security compliance
- Respond to incidents, service requests, and faults within agreed SLAs
- Maintain system documentation, asset registers, and operational procedures
- Ensure adherence to MOD security policies and accreditation requirements
- Liaise with security, engineering, and support teams to resolve issues
Essential Skills & Experience
- Proven experience as an IT Administrator within MOD or defence environments
- Current MOD DV clearance (mandatory - no sponsorship available)
- Strong knowledge of Windows environments, user administration, and secure IT operations
- Experience working in highly regulated, classified environments
- Familiarity with IT service management processes (e.g. incident, problem, change)
- Strong attention to detail and documentation skills
