Overview

We are seeking an experienced DV Cleared 2nd/3rd Line Infrastructure Engineer to join a highly secure and mission-critical environment based in London. This is a hands-on technical role focused on supporting, maintaining, and enhancing enterprise Wintel infrastructure within a complex, high-security setting.

Working as part of an established infrastructure team, you will provide 2nd and 3rd line support across core services and platforms, taking ownership of technical incidents, problem resolution, system improvements, and infrastructure lifecycle activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide 2nd and 3rd line support for Windows-based infrastructure and core services
  • Administer and support Active Directory environments, including Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and user/device management
  • Support and maintain VMware virtualised infrastructure environments
  • Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve complex infrastructure incidents and problems
  • Perform system patching, upgrades, maintenance, and lifecycle management activities
  • Implement and maintain security best practices within a highly regulated environment
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, support procedures, and operational runbooks
  • Work closely with infrastructure, network, and security teams to support business-critical services
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and infrastructure optimisation projects
  • Participate in technical escalations and provide support for major incidents when required

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Active Developed Vetting (DV) clearance - must be current and transferable
  • Proven experience in a 2nd/3rd line infrastructure support or engineering role
  • Strong Wintel infrastructure support experience within enterprise environments
  • In-depth knowledge of:
    • Windows Server (2016/2019/2022)
    • Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, and DHCP
    • VMware vSphere / ESXi
  • Excellent troubleshooting and diagnostic skills across core infrastructure technologies
  • Experience working within secure, enterprise, government, or defence environments
  • Ability to work full-time onsite in London

Desirable Skills

  • PowerShell scripting and automation
  • Experience with backup and recovery solutions
  • Knowledge of infrastructure monitoring tools (e.g. SCOM or equivalent)
  • Exposure to highly secure, classified, or air-gapped environments
  • Experience supporting mission-critical systems and services
