Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer Location: Romsey 5 days per week onsite Duration: 6 months Day Rate: Β£390 per day pay/Β£450 per day charge IR35: Inside Candidates must be willing and eligible for BPSS and SC clearance for this role.
We are looking for a Manufacturing Engineer for an innovative tech and engineering organisation operating within the UK defence space. You'll play a key role in improving the way complex electronic and electro-mechanical products are assembled, tested and delivered. This is a hands-on Continuous Improvement role for someone who enjoys getting into the detail, solving problems and making measurable improvements across manufacturing operations. Responsibilities: Drive Lean Manufacturing & Continuous Improvement initiatives to improve productivity, cost, lead times and quality Lead structured problem-solving using 8D, RCA, DMAIC and PSP Identify and deliver Lean / CI projects from concept through to implementation Implement and improve PFMEA, 5S and Asset Care programmes Investigate and resolve product non-conformances Support Production with electronics & hardware assembly, testing and troubleshooting Identify manufacturing risks, issues and improvement opportunities Work closely with Engineering, Production, Supply Chain and Project teams Support Supply Chain improvement initiatives Drive a genuine culture of continuous improvement across the operation Required Experience: Strong experience in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma & Continuous Improvement Green Belt / Black Belt - Lean Six Sigma Experience leading manufacturing improvement projects and change Strong knowledge of electronic and electro-mechanical assembly & testing Experience troubleshooting product non-conformances Practical knowledge of 8D, RCA, DMAIC, PSP, PFMEA & 5S Experience with automated/manual measurement and test equipment Familiarity with MRP systems - IFS would be advantageous A degree in a relevant engineering discipline If you're a Manufacturing / Continuous Improvement Engineer who enjoys solving complex production problems and delivering tangible improvements, please fee free to submit your CV.
