Location: Stevenage/hybrid (2 days per week on site)

Salary: £65 - £70k plus, 10% bonus and £6k car allowance

Candidates must be willing and eligible to go through SC security clearance for this role.

I am looking for Network Architects for a client of mine who are a leading IT Systems Integrator operating within the UK defence and central government space. Their network practice is growing with this role being in their Change Impacting Technical Team which is responsible for assessing Change Requests submitted to the Programme by the customer.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop innovative network solutions that align with customer requirements.
  • Collaborate with customers to workshop business problems and derive requirements.
  • Produce and take ownership of High-Level Designs (HLDs) and Architecture Overview Documents that meet or exceed customer expectations, utilizing technologies from leading vendors.
  • Generate estimates, including Bills of Materials (BOMs), licensing, and effort-based calculations following the chosen methodology.
  • Support the Lead Bid Architect/Solution Owner in defining designs in line with requirements.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Experience in developing innovative network solutions to meet customer needs.
  • Strong background in requirements management and associated tooling.
  • Proven experience in working with customers to analyze business challenges and extract key requirements.
  • Solid understanding of a variety of network and routing protocols.
  • Previous experience working on bids and/or large, complex changes.
  • Ability to collaborate across multiple teams, supporting Bid Managers, Commercial Teams, and Architects.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to take ownership and responsibility.
  • Strong attention to detail and a proactive problem-solving mindset.
