Up to 12 Week Temporary Contract Worthing onsite We are looking for organised and detail-oriented Mailroom Assistants for a temporary contract of up to 3 months, supporting a customer administration and document processing programme in Worthing.
This is a varied role combining administrative and document-handling responsibilities with practical, hands-on duties.
You will be responsible for accurately processing customer documentation and correspondence, while also preparing, scanning, archiving and retrieving large volumes of physical post and documents.
The role involves regular standing and manual handling, including moving boxes and postage trolleys.
Key Responsibilities
Open, sort and prepare incoming post and documents for high-speed scanning.
Operate high-speed scanning and document-processing equipment, ensuring accuracy and quality throughout.
Operate high-speed slitting machinery as required, following relevant procedures and safety guidelines.
Review documentation, identify missing or incorrect information and resolve queries where necessary.
Update customer records and maintain accurate information across internal systems.
Prepare and process incoming and outgoing correspondence.
Retrieve documents and archived items for return to customers, including handling and moving boxes where required.
Archive completed batches of work and maintain accurate electronic and physical records.
Process and return original documents using internal systems.
Move and organise post, including Royal Mail postage trolleys, and assist with the general organisation of incoming and outgoing mail.
Support the wider team with a range of administrative, document-handling and record-management activities.
About You
We're looking for someone who is: Comfortable working with both PC based administration and physical documentation.
Comfortable undertaking regular manual handling, including moving boxes and post.
Comfortable learning and operating specialist machinery and document-processing equipment.
Experienced in administration, document processing, data entry or a similar busy environment.
Organised with excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
Experience within financial services, document processing, regulated environments or large-scale administration would be advantageous but is not essential.
