A fast-growing engineering and projects business is seeking an Operations Manager to lead delivery across its Special Projects division. The role covers complex projects within data centres and pharmaceutical environments, as well as wider European project delivery. This is a key leadership position responsible for operational performance, project delivery, and team management across multiple high-value programmes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and support Project Managers and Engineers across live projects
  • Oversee full project delivery: cost, programme, quality, and safety
  • Manage budgets, forecasting, and cost-to-complete reporting
  • Approve and track variations, applications for payment, and final accounts
  • Ensure strong subcontractor and supplier performance
  • Drive customer satisfaction and manage key stakeholder relationships
  • Ensure compliance with ISO standards, CDM regulations, and H&S requirements
  • Support recruitment, development, and performance of delivery teams
  • Produce project reports, forecasts, and performance updates
  • Drive continuous improvement across processes and delivery

What We’re Looking for:

  • Experience in engineering, construction, or building services operations
  • Background in data centres or critical environments (preferred)
  • Proven leadership of technical or project teams
  • Strong commercial awareness (budgets, margins, forecasting)
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Strong organisational ability and attention to detail
  • Confident with Microsoft Project and Office tools
  • Solid understanding of Health & Safety and compliance
