We are seeking an experienced and driven Senior Red Hat Linux Engineer to lead the design, build, and ongoing management of enterprise Linux platforms within a dynamic, customer-focused IT environment.
The Role
You will take ownership of our Red Hat ecosystem, leading a small team of subject matter experts while remaining technically hands-on. You will design, implement, and support resilient enterprise infrastructure, ensuring stability, automation, and continuous improvement across services. Working within an ITIL / DevSecOps-based support model, you will engage directly with customers, produce high-quality documentation, and ensure critical systems remain secure, optimised, and highly available.
Knowledge, Experience & Technical Expertise
- Proven track record in the design, build, and management of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 8, 9, and 10
- Strong experience designing and managing Red Hat Satellite
- Ansible Automation Platform
- Experience managing VMware environments
- Demonstrated leadership of a small team of Red Hat SMEs
- Strong understanding of network protocols and topologies
- Extensive customer-facing experience within an IT service environment
- Experience supporting business-critical, real-time systems with high availability requirements
- Methodical, positive, and solutions-focused approach to problem-solving
- Proven accountability in driving issues through to successful resolution
- Ability to produce clear, high-quality technical documentation for both technical and non-technical audiences
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Comfortable working independently and collaboratively within high-performing small-to-medium teams
