You will join a global IT consultancy delivering digital transformation to the MoD.
Role Description
VxRail hardware has arrived and needs to be configured and made operational. It has to be racked, powered, networked, and documented.
Setup tasks:
- Install Dell access switch(es) and configure.
- Establish network core connectivity (logical VLAN segmentation, IP address planning/allocation).
- Cabling & power extension to racks; shared storage configuration.
- Set up vSphere (target: vSphere 8.0; ESXi 7.0 noted).
- Connect to existing V8.0 vCenter.
- Implement Veeam for backups/restores.
- Define best-practice firewall/network rules.
- Prepare backup & restoration plans and DR procedures.
