We are seeking an experienced SQL Developer to join a major PROMIS Manufacturing Execution System (MES) Upgrade Project. Working alongside the MES Subject Matter Expert (SME), you will play a key role in supporting, developing, and optimising the Manufacturing Execution System that underpins production operations at the Caswell manufacturing facility. A key part of the role will involve rewriting existing GUI scripts into Oracle SQL to enable them to operate via the Operational Data Store (ODS).
About the Role
The MES SME is responsible for managing, configuring, and optimising the Manufacturing Execution System (MES) within the manufacturing environment at the Caswell plant. This role ensures the MES operates efficiently to support production processes while maintaining compliance with industry standards. As the SQL Developer, you will develop and support database solutions, troubleshoot issues, and contribute to the successful delivery of the PROMIS MES upgrade.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain and optimise Oracle SQL code to support the PROMIS MES platform.
- Rewrite existing GUI scripts into Oracle SQL to operate via the ODS (Operational Data Store).
- Work closely with the MES SME and project stakeholders throughout the upgrade project.
- Support data migration, system integration and testing activities.
- Troubleshoot and resolve database and application issues.
- Ensure solutions meet performance, reliability and manufacturing compliance requirements.
- Produce technical documentation and support knowledge transfer.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Minimum 5 years' commercial experience developing with Oracle SQL.
- Experience with Python and/or DCL scripting.
- Strong SQL performance tuning and database optimisation skills.
- Experience working with manufacturing systems or MES environments is highly desirable.
- Experience migrating or refactoring legacy scripts into SQL-based solutions is advantageous.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a project team.
