We are currently seeking an experienced QA Tester to join a high-profile programme delivering complex data and technology solutions within a secure environment. This is a hands-on testing role where you will be responsible for planning, designing, executing, and reporting on both manual and automated testing activities. You'll work closely with project teams, stakeholders, and third-party suppliers to ensure quality standards are met throughout the delivery lifecycle.
The Role
- Define and document test approaches and testing strategies.
- Create and maintain test coverage and traceability matrices.
- Analyse business and technical requirements to identify test scenarios and acceptance criteria.
- Design, develop, and execute manual and automated test scripts.
- Perform Functional System Testing and Integration Testing.
- Support End-to-End (E2E) testing activities.
- Prepare and manage test data requirements.
- Identify, investigate, and track defects through to resolution.
- Produce regular test status reports and communicate progress to stakeholders.
- Apply Risk-Based Testing principles to maximise test effectiveness.
- Collaborate with development teams, business users, and external suppliers to ensure successful project delivery.
Required Skills & Experience
- Active SC Clearance (essential)
- ISTQB Foundation Certification
- Strong experience in Functional System Testing
- Experience with test automation
- Proficiency with testing tools such as Postman
- Experience working within Agile delivery environments
- Strong understanding of Risk-Based Testing methodologies
- Experience testing Data Warehouses, Data Marts, and Data Migration projects
- Strong SQL and database testing skills (Oracle or similar)
- AWS experience
- Experience producing Test Approach and Test Completion documentation
- Proficiency with Jira, Zephyr Scale, Git, or similar tools
- ETL testing experience
- Integration Testing experience
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Desirable Experience
- Denodo experience
- Experience working on large-scale data transformation programmes
- Experience working in secure or highly regulated environments
