Requirements
- Active MOD Developed Vetting (DV) Clearance is essential.
- Strong VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) expertise, including v Sphere, v SAN, NSX-T and Aria Suite.
- Experience with VMware and Hyper-V virtualisation.
- Windows and Linux administration experience.
- Software Defined Datacentre (SDDC) design and operations experience.
- Strong networking knowledge, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP and firewalls.
- Automation experience using Power Shell, Bash, Python, Ansible or Terraform.
- Systems engineering experience across the full project lifecycle.
- Understanding of cyber security principles within secure enterprise or defence environments.
- Experience integrating compute, storage and networking into enterprise platforms.
- Ability to work onsite in Yeovil three days per week, with extended days available to condense the week.
- VMware VCP certification is desirable.
- AWS or other cloud platform experience is desirable.
- Infrastructure as Code experience is desirable.
- Experience with Active Directory, PKI, PAM and SIEM integration is desirable.
- Experience with Vx Rail / Hyper-Converged Infrastructure is desirable.
- Experience with VCF lifecycle management, including deployment, patching and upgrades, is desirable.
- Kubernetes and Docker experience is desirable.
- Dev Sec Ops and CI/CD pipeline experience is desirable.
Responsibilities
- Design, build and support secure VMware Cloud Foundation platforms.
- Lead technical delivery across platform engineering work packages.
- Produce and review technical designs and documentation.
- Integrate, test and optimise platform components.
- Mentor engineers and provide technical leadership.
- Work closely with project teams and stakeholders to deliver secure, resilient solutions.

This is a contract opportunity based in Yeovil with three onsite days per week, and extended days can be worked to condense the week.
The role sits inside IR35 at a rate of £650-£750 per day.
