You will join a close-knit and highly experienced team who value integrity, collaboration and technical excellence. While the role is predominantly office based, there will be occasional site visits, typically no more than 25% travel on average. Flexible working is supported, with the opportunity for occasional home working once established.

As a small-to-medium sized business, the company offers a stable yet dynamic environment, where engineers are visible, valued and able to progress their careers long term.

The Role:

As a Process Engineer, you will provide process engineering support across capital and technical projects within pharmaceutical manufacturing environments. You will be involved from concept design through to delivery, supporting internal teams, suppliers and customers with process design, analysis, documentation and risk assessments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Developing process flow concepts from design through to delivery
  • Creating and developing PFDs and P&IDs (including black box P&IDs)
  • Leading and participating in hazard and design studies (HAZOP, FMECA)
  • Performing and verifying process calculations including flow rates, pipe and vent sizing, pressure relief and failure analysis
  • Conducting design reviews of process equipment and process utilities
  • Producing clear, concise and compliant technical documentation and reports
  • Supporting project delivery through collaboration with internal teams, customers and suppliers
  • Providing occasional site-based support, including FAT attendance and limited testing activities

Experience & Skills Required:

  • Degree (or equivalent) in Engineering, Science or a related discipline
  • 3+ years' experience in a Process Engineering role
  • Experience supporting manufacturing processes in pharma or related industries e.g. Biopharma, Biotech, Utilities, Energy, O&G, F&B or any environment involving the processing/handling of raw materials (mixing, reactions, bioreactors or similar)
  • Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings, design specifications, PFDs, P&IDs and general arrangement drawings
  • Exposure to hazard studies, process calculations and design reviews
  • Some project management experience or strong project coordination skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and concise technical report writing ability
  • Confident communicator, able to work effectively with internal teams, customers and suppliers
  • Full UK driving licence and ability to travel within the UK, Ireland and EU
  • Right to work and travel freely within the UK, Ireland and EU

Package & Benefits:

  • Salary Β£45,000-Β£55,000 (flexible depending on experience)
  • Annual bonus (typically 6-11%)
  • Β£5 per day lunch allowance when working away from home
  • Paid overnight allowance when staying away
  • Private pension scheme
  • 25 days' holiday + bank holidays (increasing with length of service, with buy/sell options)
  • Company-wide Christmas shutdown
  • Regular salary and development reviews
