Rate: £650 per day Inside IR35

Location: Remote (some travel to Newbury required)

Contract: 6 months rolling

Active SC clearance is required.

We're looking for an experienced Senior Network & Security Specialist who can be the technical lead to join a high-profile enterprise environment, working across networking, security, data centre fabrics and load balancing.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and hands-on implementation of complex network and security solutions
  • Create professional HLDs, LLDs, implementation plans and operational runbooks
  • Work across Cisco, Juniper, Fortinet and F5 technologies
  • Design and troubleshoot Cisco ACI environments, including spine/leaf, multi-site and multi-pod
  • Engineer advanced BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, EIGRP, VXLAN, VLAN, STP, VPC/LACP and QoS solutions
  • Design and implement NGFW, VPN, security policy and HA architectures
  • Deliver F5 L4/L7 load balancing, SSL offload and GSLB
  • Lead PoCs, design validation and pre/post implementation testing
  • Act as the technical lead and primary point of contact for key stakeholders
  • Mentor engineers and coordinate technical delivery
  • Troubleshoot complex network and security issues and engage vendors when required

Experience required:

You'll be an experienced Network/Security specialist with a proven track record delivering complex enterprise or service-provider environments. You should have:

  • Strong Cisco ACI experience
  • Advanced routing & switching expertise
  • Strong network security experience
  • Multi-vendor implementation experience
  • Proven HLD/LLD and technical documentation skills
  • Strong stakeholder and client-facing capability
  • Experience leading technical delivery and mentoring engineers
  • Professional certifications such as CCIE, JNCIE, ACMP or equivalent are highly desirable.

Technical toolkit:

  • Cisco: IOS/IOS-XE/IOS-XR/NX-OS, ACI, Firepower, ISE, Catalyst Centre/DNAC
  • Juniper: JunOS, SRX
  • Fortinet: FortiOS, FortiGate, FortiManager, FortiAnalyzer
  • F5: BIG-IP LTM/GTM/ASM/APM, iRules
  • Experience with Python, Ansible, REST/NETCONF/RESTCONF or gRPC is highly desirable.
