I am looking for a WAN Network Architect for a client of mine who are a leading IT systems integrator operating within the UK defence sector. You will be working for a company whose core values centre around aspiration, trust and empathy. Ambitious targets are set that are faced with an agile approach. Responsibilities:
- You will be responsible for the research, planning, evaluation and creation of design artefacts (both high and low level) by applying engineering design theories and principles to develop a compelling solution that meets our customers' requirements.
- You will be responsible for automating, where possible, the deployment of the solution and create professional documentation to accompany all components produced.
- The provision of 4th Line support, direct with vendors, is required through to successful resolution.
Your transferable skills and experience:
- Experience in providing high quality solutions and documentation using a structured approach for components with varying degrees of complexity.
- Experience in the production of design artefacts (architectural overview documents, high-level and low-level designs).
- Demonstrable understanding of OSPF, EIGRP and BGP routing protocols.
- Demonstrable understanding of NAT, GRE Tunnelling protocol, DMVPN Tunnelling Protocol, Subnetting & Supernetting.
- The ability to automate, where possible, the deployment of network configurations and/or network software components in a verifiable way.
- The ability to support and maintain work packages throughout the Customer Solution Lifecycle.
- Candidates must have an advanced knowledge of Cisco routing and switching appliances.
- Experience in impact assessments.
- Experience of working on secure infrastructure solutions.
- Previous experience with Juniper SRX or Fortinet FortiGate is advantageous.
- Previous experience with Cisco ASA and McAfee MFE appliances is advantageous.
