We are seeking an experienced Enterprise Architect / Business Architect with strong MOD experience to support the development, maintenance and direction of a business architecture model within a highly secure environment.
The successful candidate will work closely with stakeholders to translate business needs and requirements into structured architectural outputs, helping to resolve complex architectural challenges and ensure long-term coherence across stakeholder groups, platforms and services.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain and evolve business and enterprise architecture models.
- Translate complex and ambiguous stakeholder requirements into structured architectural outputs.
- Facilitate stakeholder workshops and structured requirements elicitation sessions.
- Identify architectural gaps, conflicts and dependencies and propose appropriate resolution approaches.
- Work across multiple levels of abstraction, from strategic drivers through to business processes and capabilities.
- Produce architecture documentation and tailored architectural views for technical and non-technical audiences.
- Maintain and structure complex Enterprise Architecture repositories using Sparx Enterprise Architect.
- Apply ArchiMate 3, UML and BPMN appropriately.
- Support requirements management, relationship mapping and reporting within Sparx EA.
- Work collaboratively with data, security, platform and other architecture disciplines.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Proven experience as an Enterprise Architect, Business Architect or similar.
- Significant experience working within the UK Ministry of Defence (MOD) is essential.
- Experience operating in complex, multi-stakeholder Defence environments.
- Strong understanding and practical application of TOGAF and Enterprise Architecture frameworks.
- Proficient in ArchiMate 3.
- Strong UML experience, including Use Case, Activity and Sequence diagrams.
- Working knowledge of BPMN for process modelling.
- Strong hands‑on experience with Sparx Enterprise Architect, including maintaining complex EA repositories.
- Experience with Sparx EA requirements management, relationship matrices and reporting capabilities.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to turn ambiguous stakeholder requirements into structured architectural concepts.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication and workshop facilitation skills.
- Experience producing architecture documentation and views for different stakeholder groups.
