You will join a global IT consultancy as they deliver digital transformation to a public sector client. We're looking for an experienced User Researcher to support a busy app project.
You'll be running focus groups and other sessions to really understand what service users need, and turning that into clear, useful insights for the team.
You'll be working closely with a Service Designer, but also need to be comfortable working on your own and taking the lead on research.
What we're looking for:
- Around 7+ years' experience in user research
- Comfortable leading focus groups and speaking to a range of users (patients, clinicians, staff)
- Able to plan, run and wrap up research with minimal support
- Experience working alongside service designers or in multidisciplinary teams
- Good at communicating findings in a straightforward, practical way
- Leads research for a product or service area from discovery to delivery. Integrates qual/quant evidence, aligns stakeholders and de-risks decisions through experimentation.
- Plan multi-method research; manage data, consent, accessibility and ethics.
- Design and evaluate experiments (prototypes, A/B/MVT where appropriate).
Your skills and experience:
- Significant experience delivering user research in NHS, GDS or healthcare environments, including complex services and systems
- Proven experience leading research in Discovery and Alpha phases, shaping problem definitions, strategies, service direction
- Demonstrable experience planning, selecting, and delivering a wide range of qualitative and quantitative methods
- Design and facilitate complex co-design activities that inform service direction and decision making
