Lead the delivery of enterprise data tooling at scale. I am looking for an experienced Tooling Lead to take ownership of the end-to-end delivery and rollout of Alation and Profisee within a major enterprise data programme for a client who is a leading Digital Transformation Organisation. This is a high-impact role for someone who can operate comfortably across technical delivery, Agile leadership, data management and senior stakeholder engagement, bringing together business teams, technology functions, vendors and implementation partners to ensure complex tooling programmes land successfully.

What you'll be doing:

  • You'll take the lead across the full delivery lifecycle, from planning and mobilisation through implementation, testing, go-live and transition into BAU.
  • Focus: Alation | Profisee | Data Governance | MDM | Metadata | Agile Delivery

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Owning delivery plans, roadmaps, milestones, dependencies, resources and release schedules for Alation and Profisee.
  • Leading Agile delivery teams, including backlog management, sprint planning, prioritisation and delivery tracking.
  • Acting as the key interface between business stakeholders, data governance, technology teams, vendors and implementation partners.
  • Providing technical oversight across platform configuration, metadata onboarding, MDM deployment, integrations, testing and go-live.
  • Running workshops, governance forums and steering meetings to drive decisions and remove blockers.
  • Managing RAID, risks, issues, dependencies and escalations, ensuring delivery stays on track.
  • Producing clear delivery reporting, dashboards and executive-level updates.
  • Ensuring solutions align with enterprise architecture, governance, security and operational readiness standards.
  • Supporting the transition into BAU through knowledge transfer, service readiness and support model definition.

Experience Required:

  • Proven experience leading complex enterprise technology or data management implementations.
  • Strong delivery management experience across multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Experience managing senior stakeholders, vendors and third-party implementation partners.
  • Strong knowledge of data governance, metadata management, MDM and data quality.
  • Hands-on delivery or implementation experience with Alation and/or Profisee.
  • Experience with comparable platforms such as Collibra, Informatica, Microsoft Purview, Ataccama or similar would also be highly relevant.
  • Strong Agile delivery experience, including backlogs, sprints, dependencies and prioritisation.
  • Excellent risk, issue, dependency and stakeholder management skills.
  • An understanding of enterprise data architecture, cloud platforms and data transformation programmes.

The ideal candidate:

You'll be someone who can join the dots between technology, delivery and the business. You don't need to be the person configuring every element of the platform yourself, but you do need sufficient technical depth to understand the implementation, challenge decisions, manage technical dependencies and ensure the tooling is genuinely ready for operational use. Strong communication, leadership, facilitation and problem-solving skills are essential. If you're a Technical Delivery Lead, Data Tooling Lead, Data Programme Manager or similar with experience delivering enterprise data platforms, we'd be keen to hear from you.
