Requirements
- We need engineers with experience in Royal Air Force, Royal Signals, 14 Signal Regiment, REME or defence communications.
- We need experience with electronic warfare or secure defence systems.
- We need experience supporting operational or deployed IT infrastructure.
- We need experience with Cisco networking, routers and switches.
- We need experience with Windows Server 2016, 2019 or 2022.
- We need experience with VMware ESXi or Microsoft Hyper-V, and LAN, WAN and VLAN networking.
- We value experience with firewalls and secure network infrastructure; CCNA is advantageous.
- We need experience in hardware installation, preventative maintenance and lifecycle management.
- We need experience with cryptographic equipment.
- We need experience with satellite communications or resilient communications systems.
- We need experience working within Official, Secret or Top Secret environments.
- We value customer-facing engineering experience within the Mo D.
- We need an HNC/HND or Degree in Engineering, or equivalent military experience.
- We need a full UK driving licence.
- We need eligibility for SC and DV security clearance.
- We need flexibility to travel to customer sites and occasional overseas opportunities.
Responsibilities
- We support mission-critical systems across secure defence sites.
- We carry out planned maintenance, firmware updates and infrastructure upgrades.
- We diagnose and repair hardware faults through structured root cause analysis.
- We install and configure servers, network infrastructure and virtual environments.
- We support military exercises, trials and customer acceptance testing.
- We deliver operator and maintainer training.
- We provide remote 1st and 2nd line support when required.
- We work closely with Mo D customers, providing clear technical updates and confidence throughout incidents.

We are recruiting a Field Service Engineer to support advanced defence technology across secure customer sites throughout the UK for a leading tech and engineering firm operating within defence.
This is a Hampshire/Hybrid role with 2 to 3 days working from home and participation in a 24/7 on‑call rota one week in four.
The salary is £60,000 to £70,000 depending on experience.
