An established manufacturer of medical sterilisation equipment is recruiting a Field Service Engineer. The business specialises in autoclaves, which are used to steam-sterilise medical, dental and other reusable instruments such as surgical tools, dental equipment and needles. Clients include hospitals, dental practices, GP surgeries, tattoo parlours and prisons.

They are looking for an experienced and customer-focused Field Service Engineer to join their service team. This is a varied, hands-on role suited to an electro-mechanical engineer who enjoys working in the field, engaging with customers, and delivering high-quality technical support and training.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, service and repair equipment, including breakdowns, warranty work and planned maintenance
  • Plan and manage your workload efficiently, optimising travel and prioritising customer requirements
  • Maintain appropriate stock of spare parts to maximise first-time fix rates
  • Communicate effectively with the Team Leader, Regional Commercial Manager and office-based teams
  • Complete accurate service reports and maintain detailed records
  • Maintain and calibrate specialist test equipment in line with company procedures
  • Deliver customer training and provide specialist product advice when required
  • Identify opportunities to improve equipment performance and customer outcomes
  • Work flexibly, including occasional longer days, overnight stays or covering colleagues when required
  • Always work in line with company policies, quality standards and health & safety guidance

What We're Looking For

Essential

  • Electro-mechanical service engineering experience
  • Field-based / mobile engineering experience
  • Strong communication skills and confidence delivering customer training
  • Full, clean UK driving licence
  • DBS clearable
