Financial Services Firm is hiring for an experienced Application DevOps Engineer to join a high-performing engineering team supporting critical technology platforms. This is a hands-on role focused on Python automation, production stability, application resilience and continuous improvement within a complex, high-volume technology environment. You will work across application, infrastructure and engineering teams to improve the reliability, scalability and operational performance of business-critical platforms.
Responsibilities:
- Develop Python-based automation and tooling to improve operational efficiency.
- Support and enhance critical production applications and services.
- Drive improvements across resilience, availability, performance and capacity.
- Manage deployments, releases, production readiness and failover activities.
- Implement monitoring, alerting and observability solutions.
- Troubleshoot complex application, infrastructure and batch-processing issues.
- Identify root causes and deliver sustainable technical solutions.
- Contribute to CI/CD, automation and wider DevOps and engineering best practices.
Skills and Experience:
- Strong Python development skills, particularly for automation and operational tooling.
- Experience in DevOps, Production Engineering, Platform Engineering or SRE.
- Experience supporting business-critical, high-availability applications.
- Good understanding of CI/CD, deployment, monitoring and software development lifecycles.
- Knowledge of distributed systems, resilience, failover and capacity management.
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills across applications and infrastructure.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Proactive approach with strong ownership and problem-solving capability.
It would be an added advantage if you had any of the following:
- Financial Services, Capital Markets or Trading Technology experience.
- Exposure to risk, trading or regulatory technology.
- Cloud, containers and modern DevOps tooling.
- Large-scale distributed or high-performance computing environments.
