Utilities Engineer – Join Our Facilities & Business Support Team

Are you an experienced engineer ready to take ownership of critical site utilities and keep a complex industrial environment running smoothly? We\’re looking for a Utilities Engineer to support and maintain key systems across a large engineering/manufacturing site.

Reporting directly to the Boiler House Manager, you\’ll play a vital role in the maintenance, operation, and continuous improvement of mechanical and building services systems. It\’s a hands‑on position where no two days are the same – from boiler house duties to HVAC and fire system maintenance.

A BOAS certification is desirable but not essential – if you don\’t have it, you\’ll receive full support to obtain it. Participation in the call‑out rota will be required.

What you\’ll be doing:

  • Ensuring continuity of utilities supply across the site
  • Day-to-day operation and maintenance of the boiler house
  • Servicing and repairing fire suppression systems
  • Maintaining HVAC and steam systems
  • Supporting compressed air system upkeep
  • Delivering planned preventative maintenance (PPM)
  • Carrying out installations, remedial works, and urgent reactive repairs
  • Conducting general mechanical repairs
  • Participating in the boiler house call‑out rota
  • Ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations

What you\’ll bring:

Essential:

  • C&G NVQ Level 2 engineering‑based qualification
  • At least 3 years\’ experience in an industrial or commercial environment
  • Experience working with HVAC systems
  • Knowledge of fire suppression systems

Desirable:

  • BOAS Cert IBO
  • IPAF and PASMA
  • Boiler house operation
  • Asbestos awareness
  • L8 awarenessExperience using a CAFM/CMMS system
